From Your Big Sister,

I am just so amazed at what God is doing through this ministry. When I look back over my life and think about where I used to be compared to where God has brought me now, all I can say is, “Look at God!” If someone had told me years ago that I would be leading women to Christ and helping build a sisterhood centered around Him, I probably would have laughed and said, “You got the wrong person!”

Girl, I was a straight mess before God birthed Rib Sisters in Christ. I was a whole pastor’s wife, doing my own thing and leading others the wrong way. I loved God, but I did not truly know His Word the way I should have. I did not understand the Bible, even though my husband is a pastor. It is amazing how you can be around church for years and still not fully understand the purpose God has for your life.

My husband and I have been married for 28 years, but for 22 of those years I was lost. I did not know my purpose. Because I did not know who I was in Christ, I spent years living through my husband and through the world. I was trying to find fulfillment in people, places, and things instead of finding my identity in God. I was searching for something that only He could give me.

Then one day I reached a dead end. I found myself in a very low place. I was tired emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I felt overwhelmed by life and discouraged by where I was. It seemed like everything was weighing on me at once. But even in that moment, God had a plan.

The Lord had my Apostle, Dr. Sabrina C. Lewis, call me. Child, I declined her call! I was not ready to talk to anybody. I felt like I was falling apart. But immediately the Holy Spirit said, “Call her back.” I told God, “I'm not together.” But He said, “Call her back now.”

What I did not realize was that God had already been preparing this moment years before. In 2017, Dr. Sabrina walked into my salon. At the time, I thought she came for hair services, but God knew the real reason. The appointment was not just about hair. He already knew He would use her to help guide me closer to Christ and help me discover my purpose.

And girl, look at God now!

Out of all my confusion, struggles, mistakes, and years of wandering, God birthed Rib Sisters In Christ. The Lord showed me that this ministry was created for women of all ages, all economic statuses, and all diversities. He showed me a vision of women coming together, growing together, praying together, laughing together, and walking with Christ together. He showed me women building genuine friendships that are rooted in His love and His Word.

God also showed me that not every friendship was meant to go where He was taking me. That was a hard lesson. He let me know that I could not continue holding on to certain friendships unless they were willing to walk with Christ as well. Now that does not mean we stop loving people. It simply means we cannot allow people to keep us from our purpose.

Some of your friends may not choose Christ right now. Some may never choose Him. But God, in His goodness, has given us this beautiful jewel called Rib Sisters in Christ.

Rib Sisters In Christ is a place where women can come together and build meaningful relationships centered on God. It is a safe place where women can grow spiritually while also experiencing friendship, encouragement, support, and accountability. It is a place where women can experience rest, relaxation, abundant life, and create meaningful, God-centered memories.

One of my favorite things about this sisterhood is knowing that I do not have to walk this journey alone. I have sisters who pray with me, encourage me, support me, and remind me of God’s promises when life gets hard. We celebrate together, cry together, learn together, and grow together. We love Jesus, and yes, honey, we know how to have fun too!

The Lord instructed me to intentionally examine myself through the Word of God daily and encourage other women to do the same. He also instructed me to be transparent with my testimonies. When God first told me that, I said, “Lord, I can’t be telling my business!”

But He reminded me that my testimony is not just for me. It is for every woman who thinks she is too far gone, too broken, too ashamed, or too guilty to be used by God.

So girl, let me tell you something.

You are not the only one who has made mistakes.

You are not the only one who has failed.

You are not the only one who has fallen short.

There is no need to carry shame and guilt when God has already provided forgiveness through Jesus Christ. God forgave me for so much, but I had to repent, surrender, and choose Him. I had to stop running from His call and start walking in His purpose.

Now the same God who rescued me, restored me, and revealed my purpose has me leading women to Christ.

If He can do it for me, He can do it for you too.

Why We Testify

Testifying about what God has done in your life carries a powerful spiritual weight. It is more than sharing a story; it is declaring the faithfulness, goodness, and transforming power of God. When we testify, we are not only reminding ourselves of what God has brought us through, but we are also building faith in others who may be silently struggling. God receives glory through our honesty, our gratitude, and our willingness to acknowledge that every victory, every healing, and every breakthrough comes from Him. Testimonies become living evidence of His presence, encouraging others to believe that He can do the same for them.

However, many people struggle to be transparent due to social expectations, religious pressure, or fear of judgment. In certain environments people feel they must appear perfect or spiritually strong at all times, which can create barriers to honest testimony. This silence can prevent healing, connection, and deliverance that often comes through vulnerability. But when those barriers are broken, freedom begins to flow. God often uses our most authentic and imperfect stories to reach others, showing that His grace is powerful enough to meet us exactly where we are and carry us into who we are called to be.
